August 8, 2018 – Phoenix Contact introduced the TMC 7 series of circuit breakers, designed for UL 1077 supplementary overcurrent protection. The TMC 7 series uses snap-action technology that is designed to eliminate\ the need for contact welding and reduce\wear and tear on the internal contacts of the device.

The trip-free design eliminates closing the circuit during an overcurrent event. The device also isolates problems in the system while allowing for continued operation. The series complements the TMC 8 series of UL 489 circuit breakers.

Like the TMC 8 series, the TMC 7 series is available in 1-, 2-, and 3-pole options, with B-, C-, and D-trip curves to accommodate a variety of applications and load types. They include visual trip status indication. The snap-on accessories, including auxiliary contact, alarm contact, shunt trip, and cuttable bus bars, are the same as those used in the TMC 8 series.
