Los Altos, California --July 12, 2004-- Precise Automation has signed a license for machine vision technology with CyberOptics Inc. and Datacube Inc. The license gives Precise access to the source code for a complete set of machine vision tools including the MaxVisionTM toolkit and a patented object locator. Under the terms of the agreement, CyberOptics will receive improvements made by Precise for a period of time.Mr.
Brian Carlisle and Dr. Bruce Shimano, the founders of Adept Technology Inc., founded Precise Automation in January of 2004. Mr. Carlisle stated, “Dr.
Shimano and I believe that machine vision is a critical element of a motion control system for both part feeding and motion guidance. The addition of vision technology from CyberOptics and Datacube will give Precise a world class machine control platform.”Dr. Scott Roth has joined Precise and will be advancing the machine vision tool set and integrating it with Precise’s motion control language. Dr.
Roth has 30 years of experience in machine vision and worked with Carlisle and Shimano at both UnimationTM Inc. and Adept Technology, Inc. where he developed many landmark vision tools for automation.Precise expects to begin delivering products early next year.
