Award presented for demonstrated corporate responsibility, economic impact and workforce excellence
ATLANTA, April 18, 2003 Rockwell Automation today announced that its Dublin, Ga., manufacturing facility has been named Manufacturer of the Year in the medium-size manufacturer category for the state of Georgia. This award was presented during a ceremony at the Cobb Galleria in Atlanta as part of the ninth annual Manufacturing Appreciation Week, organized by Georgians for Manufacturing. Robert Murphy, director of operations for the Dublin facility, and Steve Eisenbrown, senior vice president, Rockwell Automation, accepted the award, presented by the Honorable Sonny Perdue, governor of Georgia.
Also present among more than 1,300 business leaders, elected officials and educators were Perry Stuckey, III, Rockwell Automation vice president of human resources, and 20 representatives from the Dublin facility. It is our 365 employees sum total commitment to excellence and their sense of ownership within our operation that led to this prestigious statewide recognition, noted Murphy.
The working partnerships that Dublin Operations has established with the Heart of Georgia Technical College, the Georgia Quick Start Program and its local and state municipal officials has created a strategic advantage for Rockwell Automation, added Eisenbrown.This award is given annually to a small (1-150 employees), a medium (151-750 employees) and a large (751+ employees) manufacturer within the state. Criteria for the award relate to a companys corporate/community responsibility, economic impact and workforce excellence. In addition, the business has to have been in operation in Georgia for a minimum of three years. Previous award recipients include Briggs and Stratton, Cessna Aircraft and Caterpillar.
