RuggedCom to work on smart grid demonstration project

The project aims to demonstrate the reliability, efficiency and cost benefits of a smarter grid to cooperative members.

September 21, 2011 – RuggedCom has been selected as a key partner of the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA), participating in the organization’s regional Smart Grid Demonstration Project (SGDP). The project aims to demonstrate the reliability, efficiency and cost benefits of a smarter grid to cooperative members. Participating cooperatives will deploy more than 250,000 pieces of equipment across 12 states, including communication infrastructure and SCADA. “RuggedCom is pleased to be involved in the Smart Grid Demonstration Project and we are confident that our products will support NRECA’s objective of improving reliability,” says Marzio Pozzuoli, President and CEO, RuggedCom.
