RALEIGH, NC – July 8, 2003 – Schneider Electric today announced that Dr. Alan F. Krauss has joined its highly specialized Microelectronics Engineering Services (SEMES) team as chief consultant and advanced process control (APC) scientist.Dr.
Krauss brings an extensive background in microelectronics process research, thin films and multi-layer ceramics process engineering, and equipment engineering to the team, which works with some of the world’s largest semiconductor manufacturers." His neural network research and adaptive algorithm controls are already being incorporated into the Schneider offer for in-situ particle monitoring, plasma arc detection, CMP end point detection and IT/MES integration, which enables matching wafer batch recipes with a plant’s MES systems.Dr.
Krauss’ educational background includes a B.S.E. in Electrical Engineering from The University of Michigan, an M.S in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Dr. Krauss' studies concentrated on controls, electronics packaging, microelectronics, digital signal processing and statistics.The announcement was made by Schneider Electric’s Microelectronics Engineering Services group in Raleigh, North Carolina.
