ATLANTA, Sept. 12, 2007 - Diana Melick, vice president and chief information officer, Siemens Energy & Automation, Inc., will be among five Fortune 500 CIOs presenting their views of how IT gives manufacturers a competitive edge, during the 2007 MESA International Annual Plant-to-Enterprise Conference.
The conference, held Sept. 16-18, 2007, at the Rosen Plaza, Orlando, Fla., is sponsored by the Manufacturing Enterprise Solutions Association (MESA). Melick will join the CIOs of GE Fanuc, Rockwell Automation, Sara Lee and International Truck as keynote speakers during the two-day event. Melick will discuss how to drive innovation through process optimization, outsourcing, shared services, acquisitions and the Internet.
She will focus on the role CIOs play in supporting change and innovation through examples from her own experiences at SE&A. "The CIO agenda is constantly changing, which provides us with new challenges and new opportunities," said Diana Melick, CIO, Siemens Energy & Automation, Inc. "The current focus is on creating business value through innovation and enabling growth while still managing costs. We have to strategically leverage our existing investments while exploring new opportunities to drive strategy." Since 2004, Melick has served as vice president and chief information officer of Siemens Energy & Automation.
Melick is responsible for IT strategy, realization and driving process improvement across the organization. Her organization includes IT planning, architecture and governance, process management, compliance, application management, infrastructure and security. Since joining Siemens in 1997, Melick has held various management positions across a broad range of applications and infrastructure services, including eBusiness, order management, pricing and configuration, plant systems, HR, data warehousing and financial systems. Before she joined Siemens, Melick worked at Georgia Pacific, Pillsbury, and Eli Lilly Pharmaceutical.
