SKF releases Type LLM miniature profile rail guides
Type LLM guides provide precise linear positioning, smooth operation, high load-carrying capacity, high stiffness, and unlimited stroke to meet application needs. Standard guides are available in four basic sizes (7mm, 9mm, 12mm, and 15mm); various slide configurations; and standard one-piece rail lengths up to 900mm.

March 15, 2007 - SKF miniature profile rail guides offer ideal solutions for linear-motion systems where space for components may be limited. These compact and lightweight linear guides can provide precise linear positioning, smooth operation, high load-carrying capacity, high stiffness, and unlimited stroke to meet application needs.Applications include linear-motion equipment engineered for the medical, semiconductor processing, electronics, and microassembly industries, among others. High-speed linear motion up to 3m/second (and accelerations to 80 m/sec2) can be achieved.Standard guides (Type LLM) are available in four basic sizes (7mm, 9mm, 12mm, and 15mm); various slide configurations; and standard one-piece rail lengths up to 900mm.

A variety of carriage designs can be specified to accommodate load and stiffness demands.Special versions additionally can be developed for specific applications such as machined to print systems. These typically will incorporate dowell pins on the bottom to simplify mounting; threaded mounting holes in both the carriages and rails; inch (imperial) threads in the carriages or rails; and matched sets for high-precision assemblies. Preload in the carriages can be optimized to meet requirements for system stiffness. All guides feature gothic arch grooves at raceway contacts to sustain loads from any direction and unique raceway geometry contributing to large-load capacity and long performance life.

Their stainless steel material resists corrosion and construction allows ready access for easy relubrication and maintenance efficiencies.
