Compact, rugged, and affordable With the new RF 300 identification system, Siemens is expanding its product range of inductive identification systems for industrial applications. Thanks to its compact dimensions, RF300 is the ideal choice where installation conditions are restricted, especially for assembly lines, material handling systems and work piece carrier systems. RF300 is suitable for both simple and demanding RFID applications and stands out with its excellent price/performance ratio. Siemens offers everything as a one-stop supplier, and you can utilize the know-how gained from Siemens 20 years of experience and more than 250,000 installed RFID devices!

SIMATIC® RF 300 - RFID system for Reliability and Performance

The conditions found in assembly lines and industrial production facilities are often harsh. This does not present a problem for the RF300 system components, which are specifically developed for industrial applications. These systems read and write at high-performance levels and with extreme reliability - they are rated up to IP68. The RF300 has the ability to process large data quantities (with up to 32 kB tags available) and communicates at lightning speed. The mobile data storage unit is battery and maintenance-free, with virtually unlimited rewrite capability.

The data and energy required are transferred from reader to tag using 13.56 megahertz technology. SIMATIC® RF300 – State of the Art 13.56MHz Technology - Highlights of the system

  • Extremely high-speed data transmission between reader and tag (approximately 3 Kbytes/s)
  • Reading and writing of large data volumes (tags to 32KB, ready for 64KB)
  • Tags with high-speed read/write memory (FRAM), no battery required
  • Write protection for up to 20 bytes of user memory (OTP “one-time programmable” functionality)
  • Extensive status and diagnostics information that can be easily evaluated by the user program.
  • 3-color LEDs on the reader indicating operation, tag presence and faults
  • Compact design with high degree of protection (to IP68)
  • Simple and flexible system integration: serial, PROFIBUS, Ethernet (mid-2006), DeviceNet (mid-2006).
