Allied Electronics launched a mobile site, giving engineers and purchasers access to products from anywhere through a cell phone.

April 1, 2009 - Allied Electronics launched a new beta mobile site, giving engineers and purchasers access to parts from anywhere through a cell phone. “Allied’s new mobile site gives engineers and purchasers the ability to access our site from anywhere and everywhere,” said Dan Stewart, Director of eCommerce at Allied. “Whether they are working on the shop floor or out in the field, Allied customers can now search for electro-component products using our convenient mobile site.” Mobile users can browse and search for products on the site, as well as view pricing, availability, technical specs and photos. Registered users can also checkout using the mobile site.

Also, when users visit using a cell phone, the site will automatically recognize mobile users and route them to the mobile site. Allied is the first electro-component distributor in the United States to offer a mobile site.
