The Amphenol EZ 5015 combines the robustness of the 5015 standard industrial connector with the ease of spring cage contacts traditionally used on terminal blocks.
The EZ 5015 is the first spring cage contact power connector and the quickest solution on the market. Incredibly user-friendly, it requires no special skills or tools. Only a standard screwdriver is needed to fit the cable onto the connector. After having stripped the wire, a simple three-step process is carried out: insertion of the screw driver (as shown in the diagram), followed by the wire and the removal of the screw driver to create a secure connection. In less than 30 seconds a standard layout of four contacts can be achieved.
As a connection can be very easily made this way, even when the connector is difficult to access, this solution also offers safer contact. The plug is connected to the receptacle with a thread or bayonet coupling which allows tactile or auditive mating confirmation. The EZ 5015 is available in both IP55 and IP67 versions and offers UL 94 V0 fire resistance and IK 06 shock resistance.
The operating temperature range is from -55°C to 125°C.The maximum permissible wire size is 2.5 mm2 (AWG14) which enables it to deal with all control wiring systems. The EZ5015 20-4 is equipped with four contacts rated at 23A with one first-mate last-break ground contact (optionally linked to the shell) and is interchangeable with all standard 20-4 5015 connectors on the market.
