May 14, 2013 - Habey USA introduces SOM-6938 COM Express Module and SOMB-2001 COM Express Carrier Board.
The Module holds the processors, chipset, and memory while the Carrier Board holds the storage and I/O, allowing the system to be upgradeable without an entire overhaul of the I/O and hardware. The design allows the processor, chipset and memory module to be removed and updated to the latest platform when needed. This circumvents the need to recertify every single hardware component when upgrading hardware, ensuring a longer lifecycle and allowing extended scalability. The SOM-6938 features an Intel Cedar Trail N2800/D2550 processor with up to 4GB of memory. It also utilizes a Integrated Intel GMA 3650/3600 GPU supporting resolutions up to 1900x1200.
The SOMB-2001 features 14 COM ports, 6 USB 2.0 ports and many more. Common applications for a carrier board and system on module would be in machines found in the medical and research field for use in various electronic testing & measurement instruments, but as always, the applications are endless and we can build custom boards to fit your specific needs..
