November 7, 2013 - INSYS added a proxy server to its “INSYS Connectivity Service” and optimised its graphical user interface. This service provides a VPN (Virtual Private Network) for any user, requiring no installation effort: in a few steps, PCs, routers, and other network devices are set up. Central feature of the update is a proxy server that allows users to comfortably access web applications in their VPN via a web browser. The proxy is an ideal way to monitor applications, for instance during maintenance, from mobile devices such as notebooks or smartphones which do not need to be licensed for this service. Moreover, now up to ten devices can be set up through the portal without a license, and licenses can be transferred.
With this version, users can now determine the renewal periods of certificates that are automatically generated by the system, thus further increasing the security of VPN connections. Certificates for INSYS devices that can be integrated into the service via quick launch are exchanged automatically. Accompanying these technological enhancements, INSYS icom has optimised the portal’s user interface. One feature is a colour code that clearly shows device statuses at a glance. The use of icons frees up space for important information and improves clarity.
The INSYS Connectivity Service is being offered as an internet service. Users therefore do not need any IT infrastructure or expertise to create secure VPN connections. This solution is available starting from 1.25 € per license per month. Discounted licenses are available for infrequent users with a maximum of 12 days per year.
Like before, interested parties can test the service free of charge and without any commitment with up to four devices for 30 days.
