February 10, 2014 - LABOM updates COMPACT ECO pressure transmitters The transmitters measure various pressure ranges between 0 and 1,000 bar with an accuracy of ≤ 0.5 %. Optional accuracy is ≤ 0.3 %. COMPACT ECO devices use thin-film sensors to measure the relative pressure of gases, vapours, and liquids.

Their 2-wire circuitry provides a 4-20 mA output signal. The design allows for very easy zero adjustment of the devices using magnets. The product family includes special versions for hygienic applications in food, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology, as well as COMPACT HYDROGEN for hydrogen-based applications. Compared to the previous generation, the new design offers extended measuring ranges, a greater variety of process connections, an option with right-angle plug per DIN EN 175 301-803-A, and an improved electronic unit. Nearly all configurations retain the price level of the previous generation.

The COMPACT ECO product family comprises three different type series for various areas of application. CA1100 for use in machine building, the chemical, and the petrochemical industries, as well as the process industry in general, covers measuring ranges from 0…10 to 0…1000 bar and from -1…0 bar to -1…15 bar. It can operate at process temperatures of -20…120 °C. CA1110, with its hygienic housing design compliant with EHEDG recommendations, is designed to meet the requirements of the pharmaceutical, food, and biotechnology industries, covering measuring ranges of 0-1 bar to 0-40 bar and 1-0 bar to -1 to15 bar at process temperatures up to 140 °C.

A material certificate or a surface roughness inspection certificate, both per DIN EN 10204-3.1, can be provided for the hygienic pressure transmitter upon request. The type series CA1600 is also advertised as COMPACT HYDROGEN as it is specially designed for measuring the relative pressure of hydrogen and hydrogenous substances. In addition to production and storage of hydrogen, areas of application include machine building, the chemical and petrochemical industries, and automotive technology. The transmitter operates at process temperatures of -20 to 120 °C, measuring ranges of 0-4 bar to 0-700 and -1 to 15 bar.
