September 16, 2016 - Available immediately, the MPV5080LS series is a family of 15W DC/DC converters designed to meet the needs of utility scale photovoltaic (PV) applications. They feature a 200 to 1500 VDC input; which allows the use of longer solar panel strings (which in turn reduces the number of combiner boxes required).

Four models provide outputs of 5, 12, 15 and 24 VDC. Features include 4,000 VAC isolation, and tight line & load regulation. All models are protected for over voltage, over current and short circuit faults. They also feature under voltage protection, which can insure system stability in the event that the PV system suffers frequent restarts (caused by varying sunlight intensity). The MPV1580LS MTBF (per MIL HDBK 217F) is greater than 300 khours.

All models of the MPV1580LS family are packaged in a 4.3 x 2.3 x 1.18 inch, encapsulated case. Each model is specified for operation over the operating temperature range of -25° C to +70°C ambient.

All models are specified for operation at altitudes up to 500m (many photovoltaic systems are installed in high altitude fields). Cooling is by free-air convection.
