CARY, N.C. (July 2, 2003) — Expanding its magnetostrictive sensor application offerings, MTS Sensors provides the CSPR sensor for liquid level applications. The IP 65 or IP 67 rated devices provide a greater degree of intelligence to products that may have only used level switches in the past. “These sensors can be linked with a machine’s control system to monitor and maintain a desired liquid level or provide a programmable series of discrete level action points,” said Commercial Sensor Product Manager, Jesse Russell.

“This is ideal for applications where engineers are looking for more flexibility and capability in design.”Available in a number of lengths, the CSPR sensor provides extremely accurate and repeatable level measurement up to 250 mm, empty to full. Consisting of a sensing element and electronics housing using a float containing a magnet, customers may install the small-size sensor with less or no impact on product design. Customers may also custom design the float to suit the specific application such as to bottom-of-tank measurement or to suit ultra-confined spaces. The sensor may be used as an alternative to resistive float systems in a variety of applications such as medical, appliance, automotive or any application where level measurement is needed.

MTS CSPR sensors are a low-cost option for low to moderate volume sensor applications offering the reliability and durability of magnetostrictive sensing. Each sensor provides 0-5 VDC analog and PWM (pulse width modulated) outputs.
