April 3, 2012 - Precision Microdrives releases 206-108 DC 6mm planetary gear motor. It weighs only 1.2g and produces torque of 10mNm and up to 30mNm if driven hard to stall. The planetary miniature gearbox has 3 stages with a reduction of 699.5:1, and the motor is rated at 3V.
This produces a no load speed of 47 rpm and a rated torque of 10mNm, which is 200 times the torque of equivalent DC motors. The small size of this gear motor allows it to be used in a number of applications, for example robotics where space is at a premium.
