February 6, 2018 – Process Sensors Corporation introduced the latest addition to its selection of non-contact infrared temperature sensors, the PSC-SSS-PM Series. There are two models - the PSC-SSS-PM General Purpose version and the PSC-SSS-PM 2.2 High Temperature version to choose from.

The sensors feature 4 to 20 mA or RS-485 Modbus outputs, depending on the model selected. Up to 247 sensors may be installed on each Modbus network. The PSC-SSS-PM Series sensors are designed to simplify set up for alarm relays and adjustments.

An optional touch screen display provides a display of the measured temperature and allows full configuration of the IR sensor including alarms. The display changes color to provide immediate alert to alarm conditions. A graph display feature illustrates the history of a measured temperature. Data logging to an optional MicroSD Card is available with the touch screen display, enabling the operator to select a sample rate and the number of samples to be taken, and to schedule a data logging start time.

The sensor heads are constructed of stainless steel and have a full range of unique companion accessories that enable non-contact temperature measurement of inaccessible or moving objects in hot environments (up to 356°F). PSC-SSS-PM is resistant to interference from movement of sensing head cables and ideal for mounting on robotic arms. Sensor cable lengths can be extended to 30 meters.

Offering a choice of temperature ranges from -20° to 2000°C, the IR sensors feature adjustable emissivity settings on all models. The general purpose models are ideal for a range of target materials including paper, plastics, food, coated metal, ceramics and painted surfaces, as well as liquids and powders. The short wavelength, high temperature models are designed to improve the accuracy of readings on reflective materials such as steel and other metal surfaces.
