March 12, 2014 – ProComSol released HM-RS232-ISO RS232 HART Modem. The modem was registered by the HART Communication Foundation (HCF) to meet the HART Protocol Specifications. The HM-RS232-ISO is ready to work right out of the box. No driver to install or configure. The unit is powered through the RS232 port, so no external power supply is required.

The modem has the CE mark as well as the HCF Registered mark. Optical isolation protects the PC and user from electrical faults in the process loop.

At a list price of $300 USD, it is the lowest cost registered RS232 HART modem available to the market. According to Jeffrey Dobos, President of ProComSol, Ltd, “For instrument manufacturers a registered modem is vital for validating and registering their devices. The HM-RS232-ISO offers users a lower cost choice for their RS232 HART communication needs.”

ProComSol, Ltd was founded in 2005 and has become the leading provider of technically advanced, cost-effective communication solutions to the HART marketplace. The president, Jeffrey Dobos, has 15 years experience developing products with HART technology. The company designs and manufactures RS232, USB, and Bluetooth HART modems. In combination with the modems, the company’s DevCom2000 HART communication software is used to convert a PC or tablet into a full featured, DD based HART Communicator.
