SPRING HOUSE, Pa., (May 12, 2005) – Siemens Energy & Automation introduces the MPS series of SITRANS pressure transmitters with submersible sensors. The submersible level transmitters will not stick or clog, do not require compressed air, and are not affected by condensation or tank obstructions.These compact transmitters feature an accuracy of 0.3% for hydrostatic level measurements in wells, tanks, channels, and dams used in oil and gas, shipbuilding, and water and wastewater industries.
The MPS series transmitters feature a flush-mounted piezo-resistive sensor with stainless steel diaphragm to resist corrosion, and are equipped with an electronic circuit fitted with the sensor in a small, stainless steel housing. The transmitters’ cables also contain a strength cord and vent pipe to ensure durability and reduce maintenance.The transmitter is temperature-compensated to work accurately in a wide range of ambient and process temperatures. The hydrostatic pressure of the liquid column acts on the sensor diaphragm and transmits the pressure to the piezo-resistive bridge in the sensor. The output voltage of the sensor is applied to the electronic circuit where it is converted into an industry-standard output current of 4-20 mA.
The MPS pressure transmitters are available in various measuring ranges to meet numerous application requirements. The transmitters are available with optional explosion protection. A junction box and cable hanger are also available as accessories to provide for easy installation.
